Dharawad: Let us make children the conscious citizens of the country and make children an asset. Children’s activities should be encouraged, said Minister for Mines and Geology, Women and Child Development, Achara Halappa Basappa.
He was speaking after inaugurating a new auditorium constructed by the Department of Women and Child Development in association with Karnataka Bala Vikasa Academy at the office premises of Karnataka Bala Vikasa Academy in Yalakki Shettar Colony here and inaugurating the Academy Honorary Award for the year 2019 – 2020, 2020 -b2021 and 2021 – 22, children’s book Chandira Puraskar, Academy Bal Gaurava Puraskar and a special honorary award ceremony. “Children should be encouraged to grow in the field of their interest. Several special programmes have been implemented by the Government for women and children. Children need to be given self-confidence to achieve,” he noted.
He said that the projects approved by the Government should be properly implemented and developed. The State Government has implemented many programmes for the development of women. In the 2023 State Budget, Rs. 46,256 Crore has been allocated for women. Let us make children self-reliant. Every child’s talent should be recognised and honoured and awarded, he said and added that the development of children is the development of the country.
The Academy Bala Gaurava Puraskar was presented to the children of multifaceted talents in the area of music, dance, sports, painting, Science, writingas well as state, national and international multi-faceted talent.
Minister Achara Halappa Basappa felicitated writers and eminent personalities for their significant service in the field of children by presenting them with the Akademi Honorary Award and the Children’s Chandira Book Award.
