iOS 18.4 Update Brings Expanded Apple Intelligence
Apple's iOS 18.4 introduces new AI features and expands language support globally by April.

Apple has announced the release timeline for its next major iPhone update, iOS 18.4. This update is expected to roll out in April, enhancing the Apple Intelligence suite with additional artificial intelligence (AI) features and expanding language support globally.
iOS 18.4 Release Timeline
Following the launch of the iPhone 16e as the latest entry-level model, Apple updated its iOS 18 page to detail the forthcoming changes. According to Macrumors, the new page information indicates that additional AI features and expanded language support will be available as early as April.
Apple aims to extend the Apple Intelligence features to support additional languages, including Chinese (Simplified), English (India, Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), and Spanish. Support for Vietnamese and other languages is set to follow in the coming months.
Challenges and Expectations
While the iOS 18.4 release is expected within the next two months, a developer beta has not yet been made available. Initially touted to include a smarter Siri, advertised at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024, the update promised Siri with enhanced capabilities. It was anticipated that the digital assistant would have the ability to utilize personal data and screen content for more contextual and personalized responses.
However, recent reports suggest Apple faces challenges due to software bugs and engineering issues, which may impact the AI-powered Siri rollout. This could lead to a delay beyond the planned April release, possibly extending to May or later.
In response, Apple may choose to release iOS 18.4 on time but could disable specific features until they meet performance standards in a subsequent update.
